What is Better?
Plasma or LCD? What about LED? What is HDMI? What speakers sound the
best? How much does Home Automation Cost?
........................
Plasma
verses LCD : The Basics ... Plasma TV's generate
images by electronically charging phosphorus gas. Light is generated
at pixel level allowing Plasma TV's to handle motion very well and
with high clarity. Great for Sports or Action sequences. Plasma
boasts much greater contrasts between the whitest whites and the
blackest blacks in conjunction with smooth motion handling and rich
color reproduction.
LCD
TV's are known for their brightness best for rooms with ambient or
daytime light in the room and boast minimal glare off the screen.
LCD's originally came to be as Computer Monitors and thus do well
with computer generated images. LCD's are extremely energy efficient
flat panel monitors. The New LED Backlit LCD's are profoundly thin
due to the use of LED Edge Lighting ...
These TV's use LEDs around the edge of the screen to illuminate the
picture and can be as thin as 1.5", they deliver a remarkable
image.
LED Local
Dimming TV's use Full-array LED backlighting with local or
regional dimming. On brighter parts of the picture the LEDs are
brighter and in darker regions of the same picture the LEDs are
dimmer thus improving the black levels beyond any other lighting
means. This is a very advanced multi-zone light
management backlighting system that is implemented into
the set directly behind the image and so the LED Local Dimming TV's
are not as thin as LED Edge lit sets. The picture quality is
unsurpassed and of the most expensive Flat Panel
Displays.
HDMI
(High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a compact all in one audio
& video interface cable for transmitting uncompressed digital
data. HDMI is able to carry a bandwidth of 5Gbps (gigabits per
second), more than twice the bandwidth needed to transmit
multi-channel audio and video, future-proofing HDMI for some time to
come. With HDMI you can now have just 1 cable between audio and
video components able to carry full High Definition Video and
multi-channel High Definition Audio with No interference. The New
HDMI 1.4 cable takes audio and video and adds shared ethernet
capability allowing two way communication between your HDTV and
Receiver thus eliminating yet another cable.
With regard to Speakers for your Entertainment or Theater
Solution the options are limitless. Here we can look at Budget
obviously in conjunction with performance and space. Do you need to
install speakers in wall or in ceiling to save on space or reduce
room clutter? What genres of music do you most frequent? Do you like
the aesthetics of a Sound Bar below your Flat Screen TV mounted on
the wall? How much do you like to feel your Sound? Are you a BASS
nut? When considering Speakers one must pay close attention to Audio
or Audio / Video Receivers to ensure a seamless match of equipment
integrity and power handling in conjunction with listening pleasure
and control options.
